Creating a "poetic and artistic" platform in which young people who came illegally to the United States tell stories through music is the goal of American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom, tells musician John Daversa to Lusa.
The production split between Los Angeles, Miami and New York has the participation of 53 "dreamers", as they are called, youngsters who were illegally brought to the United States as a child and are now protected from deportation with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) that the Administration of Donald Trump decided to end.
American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom is released today onstreamingplatforms and digital channels and will also have a physical version, on sale on Amazon and on BFMjazz record label and musician's John Daversa websites.
