"I will keep on singing - singing my love songs, my songs of tenderness, but also my hate songs, songs against racial segregation, against racism, against nuclear energy and pollution, defending the people who need it the most, defending this planet," José Cid upon receiving the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence at a ceremony in Las Vegas, US.

According to the Latin Recording Academy website, the Grammy for Musical Excellence is awarded to "artists who have made outstanding artistic contributions to Latin music."
