Ship found in Portugal has objects from the 16th century

In the vessel, porcelain, spices, cannons and shells used as currency in the slave trade were found.

Four hundred years after the shipwreck, a ship found on the coast of Portugal is treated as one of the great archaeological discoveries of recent times.

The vessel, which was discovered earlier this month during a drainage service at the mouth of the Tagus River, is 12 meters deep, in the city of Cascais.
