Directed by Jennifer Fox, HBO's new film is a first-person story of sexual abuse. The Portuguese premiere is scheduled for the 16th, on TVCine.

It dropped like a bomb at this year's Sundance Festival. Jennifer Fox's film focuses on the sexual abuse she suffered from her coach when she was 13. At a time when sexual predators are being exposed and the struggle for female emancipation in Hollywood is at its height, this is a film made by a woman who describes her own rape.

The Tale is a movie told from a first-person perspective, haunted by a qualm that refuses to be well-behaved and illustrative. For all these reasons, it is possibly the first movie of the #MeToo era. A television event which is also cinematographic - afterThe Tale, perhaps we will have to change our opinion about TV films.
