The film "Tio Tomás, A Contabilidade dos Dias" by Portuguese director Regina Pessoa, won the award for Best Short Film and Sérgio Martins won the Best Animation Direction in a Feature Film, for the film "Klaus" in the Annie awards.

Considered the "Oscars" of animation cinema, the Annie distinguish animation productions, in short and feature films, and are awarded annually by the International Animation Film Society.

At the 47th Annie Awards Ceremony, in Los Angeles (United States), "Tio Tomás, A Contabilidade dos Dias," by Regina Pessoa, co-produced by France, Portugal and Canada won the race for the best short film. In this category another of the nominees was "Purpleboy," by Alexandre Siqueira.
