The 55-year-old actress will be the ambassador of the event.
French actress Juliette Binoche is the Star Ambassador of the Macau International Film Festival (IFFAM), a source associated with the event told Plataforma Media.
Juliette Binoche, who received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2017 for her work in 'The English Patient', will be the 'ambassador' for this year's edition, succeeding Nicolas Cage.
The 55-year-old French actress has long proven her acting talent. She received another Oscar nomination in 2001, this time for her main role in the movie 'Chocolate'. Career highlights include such movies as 'Three Colors: Blue' and 'Paris'.
The organization had already confirmed the presence of her latest film, 'The Truth', in which Binoche shares the screen with Catherine Deneuve, another renowned French actress. The film was directed by Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda.
This year's IFFAM will be held between December 5 and 10 and will show about 50 films. This edition will feature "the largest number of films" ever, organizers said at the festival's presentation.
