The film "Roma", by Mexican Alfonso Cuáron, produced by Netflix, snatched the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
All moviegoers followed (and follow) with special interest and anxiety the conflict between the Cannes Film Festival and Netflix. In other words, since the digital plataform didn't meet the requirements of placing its films in the traditional cinema circuits, Netflix left Cannes.
It was in May. About four months later, Netflix was not only one of the entities featured in the Venice Film Festival, but it won an eloquent distinction: today, at the end of the afternoon, the official jury presided over by Guillermo del Toro announced the attribution of the Golden Lion to the film Roma, of Mexican Alfonso Cuáron, precisely a production by Netflix.
