For the first time, a film commissioned by English newspaper The Guardian is nominated for best short documentary

'Black Sheep' is one of the five films nominated in the documentary short category, whose winner will be revealed on February 24.

The short film tells the story of Cornelius Walker, a young black man of Nigerian origin who has to deal with racial and family identity issues. Walker's mother has moved with her family from London to Essex (UK) after the famous murder of Damiola Taylor, who lived next to Cornelius' family. Taylor was ten years old - the same age as Walker - and was also black and Nigerian.
