Letter from Baudelaire that announces his suicide is auctioned

The star of the sale in Paris was this letter of Baudelaire, dated June 1845, addressed to his lover Jeanne Duval, and estimated between 60,000 and 80,000 euros.

A letter from the youth of the French poet Charles Baudelaire announcing his intention to commit suicide was sold on Sunday (4) for 234.000 Euros (269.000 dollars), triple the estimated price, at an auction near Paris of letters of the author of Les Fleurs du mal.

It will now be part of a private French collection, according to the Osenat auction house in Fontainebleau, near Paris.
