The Angolan writer Ruy Duarte de Carvalho was honored today within the 16th edition of the Writer of the Month project, in a promotion of the Portuguese Cultural Center
During one hour and in two days of each month, the work and the biography of the chosen author are revisited and analyzed. The next session will happen on May 20th.
The event, addressed to the university and pre- university students, is seeking, through the collective reading of excerpts from the respective works and biographies of the author, to interact with readers.
The homage was aimed at promoting the reading and dissemination of the works of Portuguese-speaking authors by the Portuguese Cultural Center.
Ruy Duarte de Carvalho, angolan of portuguese origin, was born in Santarém in 1941. He received his doctorate in anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He spent part of his life in the province of Namibe, accompanying his father, an adventurer, an elephant hunter in the Namib Desert.
