It was this sentence, heard from the mouths of many people, that awakened in António Costa Santos the desire to write a book to remind "people of short memory" that the time of the dictatorship was anything but good. In an interview with journalist Fernando Alves, on TSF's morning program, António Costa Santos recalls a time when "everything was forbidden, even the most ridiculous things such as being able to doze on a garden bench," it was a "weird, violent time, in which prohibitions were not only those that existed in the law, but also those that we invented for ourselves."
