"Things were better in the past." It was this sentence, heard from the mouths of many people, that awakened in António Costa Santos the desire to write a book to remind "people of short memory" that the time of the dictatorship was anything but good. The book "Era Proibido," edited by Guerra e Paz, is a trip to the prohibitions during the dictatorship.

In an interview with journalist Fernando Alves, on TSF's morning program, António Costa Santos recalls a time when "everything was forbidden, even the most ridiculous things such as being able to doze on a garden bench," it was a "weird, violent time, in which prohibitions were not only those that existed in the law, but also those that we invented for ourselves."
